Unpublished (academic) research study on the experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in the Derry City Council area who have been homeless or threatened with homelessness. Looks at the causes of homelessness among LGBT people compared with the population as a whole, the legislative background, support needs and services, and the experiences of LGBT people in temporary accommodation. Contains literature review and statistics. Recommendations include more effective monitoring policies and practices, better staff training, and the development of working partnerships between mainstream service providers and LGBT groups. Qualitative study carried out in conjunction with the Rainbow project and LASI (Lesbian Advocacy Services Initiative).
