A report of research into the causes and characteristics of homelessness and access to housing for single homeless people. Identifies three main factors that can contribute to homelessness: personal difficulties leading to support needs, problems with relationships and an institutional background. Examines housing options and access to permanent social housing for single homeless people. Proposes a three-way support system for all single homeless people, consisting of professional multi-agency support, mutual aid and access to housing. Makes recommendations to improve access to housing for single homeless people.
