I am homeless and need help. Where can I find out more information?

Homeless Pages provides information about homelessness publications, but does not provide advice directly for homeless people. If you are homeless now or about to become homeless, the best thing to do is contact your local council's housing advice service or the CAB. They can give advice on your particular circumstances and housing options.

If you are homeless and need somewhere to stay, you can ring Shelter's Free Housing Advice Line on 0808 800 4444 (8am-8pm Monday-Friday and 8am-5pm at weekends). This is the national freephone helpline for homeless people and those with housing problems and can give details of emergency accommodation, and put you in touch with your nearest housing advice service. They are often very busy, particularly during the day, but do keep trying.
