Funded first aid training from the British Red Cross for those who work with people experiencing homelessness.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for frontline staff and managers who work with homeless people.

What will you learn?

The British Red cross is funding first aid training for those who work with people experiencing homelessness.

These three hour sessions delivered by a Red Cross educator, will focus on the first aid emergencies that those who work with homeless people might be most likely to experience. The skills included enable you to help someone:

  • who is unresponsive and breathing or unresponsive and not breathing
  • has taken something harmful
  • is having a seizure
  • has hypothermia
  • as well as other skills.

There will be an opportunity to practice the skills and develop confidence in dealing with first aid situations. Those completing the course gain a certificate, learning pack to take away and details of the Red Cross app, this contains a wider range of skills and opportunity for further learning.


This course lasts three hours - 1:00pm-4:00pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.


This course is funded, however, there is an administration fee of £15 per person applied by Homeless Link in order to cover the provision of refreshments and course administration.

With the aim to ensuring fair coverage, places are limited to one place per organisation. Booking and payment are online only.
